lovespinkbirdies: (... Where'd that wall come from?)
Got any comments on how I play Chika?

Well, feel free to go ahead and tell me them. Anon is enabled, and IP Logging is off. So go nuts.

Just, if you're telling me "You suck!" or something along those lines, tell me why. Any crit that's just along the lines of "You suck!" or "You're Horrible!" with no indication of why that's the case WILL be ignored.

PERSONALITY: Chika is a rather energetic, friendly young girl. She cares deeply about her friends and family, and is always willing to add new people to that list of friends. She also dislikes seeing other people fighting, especially if both of those who are fighting are either family members or friends. If she had it her way, no one would ever fight each other ever again, at least in the physical sense of the word. As it is, while she does care about all of her family members, she does fight with her older brother Masaru a lot of the time, for various different reasons like most siblings do. However, while Chika hates fighting, she does understand that there are times when fighting to protect people needs to be done, and is willing to fight if she’s needed rather than letting friends of hers fight alone.

Chika has quite a bit of a nurturing side to her. During the few incidents when there was a need to take care of baby digimon during the series, Chika immediately flocked to taking care of said baby digimon. While she still had help from others, she was one of the few people who weren’t freaking out about them during the time when they needed to take care of more than one. And she really liked taking care of the little baby digimon a lot, and it wasn’t just the ‘playing with them’ part of it either. It was everything related to taking care of a baby digimon. Chika’s also protective of those who can’t defend themselves, even when she has no real way of protecting the person being attacked on her own in any meaningful way other than possibly blocking strikes to them with her own body.

While Chika is mostly confident in her abilities, she is sometimes a bit insecure. When she first visited Touma’s home, she found herself quickly embarrassed about everything that she didn’t know in regards to how she should act there, and she really wanted to not feel like an idiot in front of Touma. Well, that and how Masaru was acting around the two of them. As far as Chika was concerned there, Masaru was embarrassing her like that on purpose and she ended up running out of Touma’s home in anger.

Chika also has a tendency to make sure she gets her way. If she thinks that she’s in the right about something that needs to be done and you are the one arguing with her about it? Most of the time, she is going to win that argument because she will not stop arguing until she wins. Or she’ll end up going off and dragging you to whatever it she that she wants to do before there’s even a chance for there to be an argument. Either way, if Chika really wants to do something, it’s going to happen one way or the other as long as it’s physically possible or you’re able to out stubborn her.

POWERS/ABILITIES:
Fire Manipulation - Chika has the ability to control and generate fire. She can make it spark to life with just some oxygen around her hands. Her fire though, manifests as green flames, as opposed to standard orange or super hot blue. That said, if there’s fire around her, she can still manipulate almost as well as she can manipulate her own flames. Once she learns how to control her powers, she’d be able to make a small flame dance around, make a flaming tornado of green flame, and shoot massive fireballs at whatever.

As it is right now, she can only control a small flame, and while she can create large ones, they have a tendency to explode the longer she tries to hold it back. In addition to this, Chika’s flames still act as flames, and she has a harder time getting them to work if she’s completely drenched in water.

Chika also has a high immunity to fire, meaning that fire doesn’t affect her as much as it would a normal person. If Chika was set on fire, she’d find that there was no damage to her body at all. In addition to this, her own fire isn’t even capable of burning her own clothing, unless it’s a loose fitting piece of fabric. Her clothes immunity doesn’t extend to any other fire though, it’s just specifically the green flames she makes herself.

AU HISTORY:

Chika grew up as a normal little girl in a family of three with her mother and her brother Masaru. Her father vanished when she was a baby, but well, Chika doesn’t really mind all that much, because she never even knew him. As far as she was concerned her mother and Masaru were more than enough to be her family. Even if she bickered with her brother a lot (mostly because he was a big dummy who got into fights all the time). While she was born in Japan, all of her memories are in the US, and in fact when people ask her what Japan’s like she kinda gets a bit annoyed at them. And this happened a bit more often than she would've liked, though by now most of her classmates

But then, something strange happened, and her brother ran away from home. It was then that her mother explained that her brother was a mutant, and that he had run away after something happened at school. Her mother let Chika know that she knew where Masaru ended up. That said, with her brother now being a known mutant, things got a little bit annoying for her at school, since a lot of people were teasing her about her brother being a mutant, and claiming that she had to be one as well. Chika took it mostly in stride, giving a few sarcastic remarks at their intelligence (Oh, if I'm a mutant, than why are you trying to piss me off?), but it was really hurtful, especially since most of them were friendly towards her or even friends before Masaru's mutation manifested. She still had a few of her close friends though, which definitely helped.

But a few months after that, when Chika was playing a video game that was proving to be ridiculously difficult, she got annoyed and her controller accidentally burst into flame in full view of her mother. Thankfully, Chika’s mother wasn’t too upset with Chika at all that she could’ve easily burned down the house, but Chika was still upset and didn’t want to go to school or do anything. If she got that annoyed at a toy and broke it, what would’ve happened if she got angry at another kid?

After a few days of this, Chika’s mother eventually decided that it would probably be best to send Chika over to the Institute, so that she could get proper guidance at how to use her powers instead of being afraid of herself all the time. And being able to finally see Masaru again wouldn't hurt either.

SAMPLE
Note: A few of these samples reference Chika being eleven, as I put the test-run up before realizing that getting her in the school here before age twelve wouldn't be all that feasible
